Redondo Union band takes victory march as State Champions

January 21, 2016

Redondo Union High School's marching band and dance guard were honored by the city with a parade for their recent State Championship in Division 4A. The band, under the direction of Ray Vizcarra, performed from their winning program as they marched toward Redondo Beach City Hall for their commendation.

This is the second state band championship in Sea Hawk history, but its first state Division 4A win.  Vizcarra choreographed the show in its entirety, sometimes having the band members dance, jump, fall and perform stunts to create incredible movement on the field.

RUHS band leaders include:

Drum Majors—Brandon Chun and Jade Saffery

Band Captain—Ryan Bender

Drumline Captain—Kyle Ealy

Guard Captains—Mocha Ito and Emily Coan

Percussion—Ben Contreras and Ariel Campos

Brass—Wendy Sauceda & Pedro Rodriguez
